Mathematical Editing Template Reference

This section provides a reference for the standard set of mathematical editing templates you will use in Zed to create MathML expressions.

Greek Characters

The standard set of templates provided by Zed fall into several broad categories. There are those associated with specific MathML elements; these are covered in detail in the MathML Element Reference, arranged according to the MathML element they create. There are those associated with classes of MathML operators that all share the same operator property; these are covered in detail in the Operator Reference, arranged according to the operator class they support.

The remaining named templates supported by Zed are listed in this section.

Greek Characters

Zed provides named templates for both capital and lowercase Greek letters. These templates may also be invoked using the Math→Greek menu, or using the Greek palette.

Note that lambda and pi are handled specially to resolve collisions with the <lambda> and <pi> elements. Each of these named templates creates a new <ci> element with the appropriate named entity reference as the identifier name.
