continuously complaining about pop-ups upon opening of a .tex file

Dear Paul,
Windows XP SP2 includes a number of changes to the way Internet Explorer
invokes pop-up windows, downloaded files, ActiveX controls, IE behaviors,
and other features commonly used for web development. There are a large
number of new IE browser options for controlling these changes.
To enable techexplorer content under Windows XP SP2, the IE option
"Allow active content to run in files on My Computer" must be enabled.
To make this change, do the following:
1. In IE, select the "Tools" -> "Internet Options..." menu item
2. Click on the "Advanced" tab
3. Scroll down to "Security"
4. Check the second box, "Allow active content to run in files on My Computer"
5. Click "Apply" at the bottom of the "Internet Options" dialog
It appears this option must be checked to allow ActiveX controls to render
non-HTML content from a URL, and to allow JavaScript to rewrite the content
of a page.
You will also want to review your settings for the "Pop-up Blocker" and
"Add-on Manager" that are also on the "Tools" menu in IE.
Please see http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/sp2/ieoeoverview.mspx for
more detailed information about many of these features.
